Knowing this is a letter improves the experience of it for me a great deal. As a collage, it is somewhat sparse and it is difficult for the eye to know where to begin and where to end. As a letter however, it works perfectly without sacrificing even a drop of surrealism. I know to begin somewhere near the upper left hand corner, and continue through the page as sensibly as I can until I end up somewhere at the bottom of the page. The emptiness of the space is no longer a concern, as a so-called "normal" letter would be noticeably more bare than this. This can be then considred an improvement on the traditional style of correspondence.

The images become words, phrases, and sentences that add meaning to the nearby text. They are like their own narrative. In fact upon re-examination, I thought this could be like a letter from inside of madness. Or possibly this is some kind of psychic transmission. Or a magical letter? There is obviously something overworldly going on.

Also, the title is perfect, since that collage piece is central and poignantly strange.
